Early Intervention

The Meigs County Board of DD provides Early Intervention (EI or Part C) services to families of eligible children under the age of 3.  EI service providers (including Developmental Specialist,  Speech/ Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, and Physical Therapist) offer supports and resources to assist family members and caregivers to enhance children’s learning and development through everyday learning opportunities in natural environments such as their homes, child care settings, and within the community.  To make a referral please call 1-800-755-4769 or visit www.ohioearlyintervention.org

The first five years of your child’s life set the foundation for, and influence, future success in school and life.  Because parents are the child’s first and most important teachers, it is vital that parents and educators work together.  Our school and community need to understand the areas and stages of human development and how the interactions of each family affect this development.  We, as educators, share the responsibility with the community for nurturing those forces which develop and strengthen family life.
